MISSION

Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company’s mission is to produce and present the highest level of Flamenco shows in Florida, the United States, and abroad; train young aspiring professional Flamenco dancers, and develop and implement our program as an educational leader of Flamenco dance in America.

HISTORY

The Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company is a leader in the evolution of Flamenco dance in America, and has had the honor of performing in world-renowned theaters all over the globe. Its original shows –and collaborations with a range of disciplines–, enrich the Flamenco traditions integrated into each scene. They have deep pride in offering a diverse and exciting artistic narrative through a contemporary and innovative vision.

The Company’s ensemble of eight Dancers and a group of masterful Musicians all accompany the Principal Bailaora and Choreographer, Siudy Garrido. They craft and rehearse each repertoire in their own studio, located in North Miami, FL –led by Artistic Director Siudy Garrido, along with Associate Artistic Director Pablo Croce.

Since its founding in 2000 in Caracas, Venezuela, and its relocation in 2015 to Miami, FL, the Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company has performed in prestigious theaters and festivals in over 50 cities. Some of these notable venues include: the Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Hollywood Bowl (both in Los Angeles, CA), the Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival, the Place des Arts (Montreal, Canada), The Forum de Mundo Imperial (Acapulco, Mexico), the New World Stages Off-Broadway (New York City), the Miller Outdoor Theater and The Hobby Center (both in Houston, TX), the Dr. Phillips Center for The Performing Arts (Orlando, FL), the Benedict Music Tent and Harris Music Hall (Aspen, CO), the Sánchez Aguilar Theater (Guayaquil, Ecuador), the Teresa Carreño Theater (Caracas, Venezuela), and the renowned Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts (Miami, FL) , which in 2019 officially named Ms. Garrido as an Arts Partner.

The Company’s repertoire features multidisciplinary collaborations with Visual Artists, Dancers, Musicians, Designers, Filmmakers, and Composers from all backgrounds. Our roster of extraordinary collaborators include: Antonio Canales, Juan Manuel Montoya “Farruquito”, George Akram, Argentina López, Gustavo Dudamel, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the South Florida Symphony Orchestra.
